Here’s some detailed info to understand it all better:
NRS Membership
- ALL players must have a National Roller Sports (NRS) membership. The event is sanctioned by the NRS and this needs to be done by everyone. Get your NRS Membership HERE:https://nationalrollersportsassociation.org/registration
For some divisions there are more teams so all teams in those divisions will be participating in Tiering. Playoffs and round robin games depend on tiering games.
Tiering games: These are “half games” used to tier the teams into two tiers (Pool A and Pool B). These do NOT count toward the guaranteed games each team gets for the tournament. They are additional. After these “mini games” are played and teams are tiered, teams will know what times to play the rest of the tournament.
A thought from me…
—> I know that as parents, this makes it hard to plan! Especially if you are local and because a lot of us work. Remember that MOST teams travel from out of town or out of state, so think “travel hockey mindset”. I am pretty much clearing my days so I can be at the rink as needed. I also understand that not everyone has that luxury, so If you need rides or support for any part of the tournament, PLEASE reach out to other team parents! We are family and we are here for each other!
—> Coaches and staff are pouring EVERYTHING into this tournament. If this gives you any feel for what our coaches are doing for us: my son works at the rink and usually gets 1 shift per week. This week, he has worked 7 out of 8 days! Those coaches are there nonstop, so please have grace, patience and loads of gratitude for them! They ARE the reason we get to enjoy this amazing sport of roller!
