Meet Russell — a 10u inline hockey player with a heart of gold! 💛

Russell is a real glue guy on the bench and in the locker room. A pass-first teammate who sees the floor well for his age. He's only been playing hockey since summer of 2024, but he’s well known around the Pepsi Arena is a super great guy!

Russell is gregarious and quick to start a conversation with anyone at the rink regardless of age. He's hard to miss and even harder to ignore, in the best of ways!

When he's not playing hockey he's usually reading or drawing, or hanging with his parents at the rink, who also play roller - and are all-around amazing people! Russell enjoys tap dancing, crafting, archery, and board games.

One head coach said that Russel Chappe “is probably one of the most well-known kids out there. Whenever he walks into this rink you know Russell’s here. He goes straight up to the bar and says what’s up to Joaquin. He comes straight in here … He’s just a good kid to be around.”

Coach Danny says, “He’s a big team player. He’s really involving of his teammates with encouraging words and passing and he’s coachable.”

CJ Yoder says Russell “is a phenomenal young kid that comes in with a smile on his face every day. That’s the type of person you want around a rink at all times.”
